Summer work-Webmaster

MAX IV is a Swedish national large-scale research laboratory hosted by Lund University. It provides scientists from Sweden as well as internationally, with state-of-the-art instrumentation for research in areas such as engineering, physics, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually, conducting ground-breaking experiments in materials and life sciences using the brilliant X-ray light.

The Communications Group at MAX IV Laboratory is responsible for supporting internal and external communications, including press and research communication, branding, projects and events as well as the MAX IV web site and social media presence. We advise on what should be communicated, where and when and to whom as well as providing training and certain operational assistance in communication issues to employees and management. The group consists of the Head of Communications and two Communications Officers.



Tasks
MAX IV will build a new WordPress website and is looking for a summer worker to help design, test and populating it with existing content as well as make sure it is search engine optimised, have the right functionality and fulfils the legal requirements for accessibility.

The work will be carried out in close collaboration with our colleagues at the IT Web group who host our web environment.

Qualifications
The candidate must have the following qualifications:

- Experience working as a web publisher in WordPress incl. CSS and HTML
- Experience working with Google Analytics, SEO and availability
- Experience on how to develop communication strategy for web and social media
- Experience working with graphical design tools
- English oral and written

Desirable qualifications are:

- Experience working with Linux, MySQL, PHP and SQL
- Experience in database handling
- General programming interest or experience
- Version handling (git)

Time period
Week 24 to 35 (based on the availability of the summer worker)
