Purpose
The SDA’s role is to assure sustainable Supply Network Resiliency to meet customer volume demands by securing production and aftermarket material needs.


Responsibilities
As an SDA in Volvo Penta’s Purchasing organization, you will have the task to ensure that suppliers have adequate capacity and flexibility throughout the supply chain to deliver material to Volvo’s production and aftermarket facilities according to their needs. You will work towards a stable and resilient long-term supplier capacity situation.
Furthermore, you also have the task to monitor, map and analyze capacity and flexibility in the supply chain through e.g. capacity audits (live audits and self-assessments) as well as make risk assessments regarding individual suppliers’ ability to deliver parts.
In the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process where we as a company plan and decide what to produce to satisfy customer demands (“the program”), you will be Volvo Penta Purchasing’s representative. You will be responsible for analyzing new program volumes, evaluating suppliers’ ability to meet the requested program, and finally giving our response to the program (i.e. whether our suppliers are able to meet the request).
Part of your role will also be to act as a Crisis Leader where we need to manage supplier capacity issues and drive action plans to mitigate (potential or actual) delivery and capacity disturbances. This can also include coordinating delivery priorities between Volvo sites.
Finally, it is also expected that you take part in the strategic improvement work related to Supplier Delivery Assurance Manager role and processes.


Authorities
In accordance with the valid Volvo Penta governance and processes authorization regulations, the SDA Manager has the authorities to act to fulfill the above tasks and responsibilities.


Competence
The ideal candidate is intelligent and resilient, able to manage complexity and set priorities, is driven by delivering results and making an impact as well as with a holistic approach being able to identify main improvement areas and work towards defined goals together with different stakeholders. The role relies on the ability to build relationships, being a confident presenter to management teams and to lead cross functional activities with multi-cultural teams.


We would like you as applicant to have a university degree in technology and/or business but key is to have an understanding and experience in logistics/purchasing and operations management, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Skills in capacity management, project management, lean production and logistics are also beneficial.


You are part of a team, but this role will require you to drive your own initiatives and work independently. Being fluent in English is required and experience from working in an international environment is beneficial.
