Role description
As Supplier development engineer you work with development and evaluation of new and existing suppliers.
The role includes supplier visits to carry out quality checks, audits and initiate activities. You act when quality deficiencies occur linked to our suppliers, but you also work preventively together with the suppliers regularly to ensure good quality and delivery.
You have a wide network of external and internal contacts in your work and work closely together with R&D, purchasing, quality and production.
The work includes approving new suppliers as well as new and changed products/processes for quality-assured and stable manufacturing at the supplier based on agreed requirements and standards. To lead work up to PPAP for flawless vendor launches.
You ensure that the suppliers can understand our technical specifications, drawings and that they follow agreed measurement methods. You are a help to the suppliers in the use of the Gnutti Supplier Portal.
You work with implementation of Supply agreements and SQM escalations. Every month you will collect the data for monthly reports as well as participating in the Material cost reduction program. Documentation and presentation of the results is seen as a natural part of the job.
Travel occurs regularly and the suppliers base are mainly in Europe, but there are also trips to Asia. Fluent in spoken and written English and Swedish is mandatory.
Your profile
You have an engineering degree and experience in manufacturing companies, its merited if you have experience in the automotive sector. You have basic knowledge in core tools like APQP and PPAP and problem solving tools like Ishikawa, 5Why´s or HERCA.
It´s merited if you have good knowledge of materials and commodities (cast iron, steel, aluminum) and knowledge of massive head treatments as well as surface treatments (plating, coating etc). Merited is also if you have VDA 6.3 certification or training and are familiar with ISO 14001, ISO 18001. We have SAP and it´s merited if you have worked in SAP before.
As a person you are outgoing, get things done and drive things forward. You are flexible and like working both in a team as well as driving your own work forward.
You enjoy challenges and can manage several things simultaneously, and at a somethings high work pace due to your proactive way and planning.
You have excellent communication skills and it´s easy for you to make contact, manage and influence others. You are analytical and have both the ability to set demands and listen, and are clear and educational in your communication.
