Join the global purchasing team of IKEA food!
Category Area Food together with internal and external partners, provides the food sold and served in all IKEA Restaurants, Bistro´s, Swedish Food Markets which +500 million guests are enjoying in 49 markets. In Category Area Food, we lead and execute the global purchasing agenda, material direction, responsible sourcing and the quality compliance agenda for the food range in IKEA. Today we are over 170 colleagues who work globally while being located across Europe, North America, Asia and other regions in order to be close to our supplier partners.
We are now looking to recruit a Supplier Development Manager to join our exciting food journey! As a Supplier Development Manager, you will be a key contributor development of our ambitious plans towards the future.
Within Category Area Food, you will be responsible to establish the supplier planning and capacity processes, combining the best practices of range and supply with the best practices of food, with key contribution to total cost-out and availability results.
As Supplier Development Manager, you will in close cooperation with the Category Area Management Team contribute to set priorities and goals in the Category Business Plans, that steers the supplier development agenda and develops the value chain. You work together with the Category Managers and the Business development teams in your area of responsibility to support them in strategical directions of supplier landscape, as well as support them in SDP and in action plans creation that have been agreed with the suppliers. You are the direct Manager of the CA’s Supplier Development Leader and the Manufacturing Developers. You will also be matrix responsible for all the BDM’s and BD’s in your Category Area. You are a member of Category Area management team and you are a member of the Purchasing Development Matrix group.
More in detail the assignment consists of:
Support Business Development Managers, help the team to identify and act upon improvement and potentials from value chain analysis.
Lead, contribute and/or coordinate supplier development activities such as lean transformation and supplier development programs.
Leading and developing ways of working with the Supplier Development process within the Category Area
Overall responsibility for the competence agenda for the Business Developers and the Business Development Managers - this means supporting in building competence plans to meet the short and long term business goals and to coach and mentor the co-workers in these positions.
Leading the team of Manufacturing Developers, allocating resources to and coordinating improvement projects with suppliers.
Leading the Supplier Development Leader (SDL), securing that you and the SDL co-lead the Supplier
Development agenda and the competence agenda of the Business Developers.
As a part of the Purchasing Development matrix you contribute to IKEA’s development of WoW and tools for Supplier development
