Within our Purchasing organisation in Europe, Supply Development is responsible for the quality of all parts supplied to all Volvo CE European productions sites by our external suppliers. In close cross functional teamwork with Purchasing, Product Development and Manufacturing, our organisation work with problem solving methodology like six sigma or similar to improve and secure the quality level of existing products where our suppliers have difficulties to meet set specification and targets The Supplier development team in Europe consists of 45 SD engineers. As SD Manager ? Sweden you will be responsible for the SD engineers at our sites in Arvika, Braås, Eskilstuna and Hallsberg. Position content and reporting relationship Secure the quality and contribute to the cost of supplied parts purchased by the Volvo CE Purchasing Organisation To actively support and develop the Supplier Development function within Volvo CE sites in Sweden To support the Volvo CE Purchasing &Supply Management objectives and goals To assist in reaching a world class supplier performance Report to the Volvo CE Regional Supplier Development Director Member of Regional SD leadership team Specific responsibilities Drive and lead set Supplier Development processes, strategies and team to achieve assigned business plan and project targets Implement and maintain quality procedures & standards Manage process for supplier evaluation and supplier audits Manage quality targets in consistency with Volvo CE needs To implement and use Volvo supplier development processes & tools Coordinate and manage supplier quality issues from pre-production, serial production and market Manage and maintaining supplier status (SQDP) Lead SD community in Sweden and secure that the organization has the right skills and resources to reach set targets To support our different processes for Product Development and Production to achieve a total cost effective supply solution (QDC) Assist our Customer Support organization to recover/minimize warranty cost from suppliers Authorities Authorized to approve/disapprove a supplier selection To develop and implement the necessary activities to deliver the content of the Business Plan within the budget frame Results and deliverables Regional SD strategy Quality assurance of supplier selections and supplied material Quality / efficiency improvements with suppliers N of suppliers No of employees reporting to position 20 Education or experience required University degree in Engineering, or similar education or experience Min.5 year?s professional experience of quality management and production systems in batch or mass production. Strong communication skills in Swedish/ English, Good change management skills Good leadership skills and ability to lead, inspire and develop a remote team to reach set goals/targets Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and supply development tools Flexible location at one of Volvo CE:s Swedish sites in Arvika, Braås, Eskilstuna or Hallsberg
