POSITION CONTENT AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP(S):
The Business Control department within Group Truck Purchasing is responsible for analysis and reporting, cost management and financial risk evaluation of external suppliers. This position is responsible for the supplier financial risk management.


This position is based in Gothenburg Sweden, Lyon France or Greensboro USA and reports to the Global Supplier Financial Risk Director.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be responsible for supplier financial risk in all purchasing phases.
Monitor and track yearly financial updates on regular basis. Interface with buyers and suppliers in collecting and validating financial data from suppliers. Ensure Volvo receives timely information and update in VSIB Financial Scorecard system, with support from Purchasing Support Centre in Bangalore/India.
Lead the supplier financial evaluation through analyzing financial statements, relevant supplier data, and supplier meeting, etc. Collaborate with the network of supplier financial risk analysts in the other Continents and other business controllers. Suggest risk level and propose further investigations/actions.
Provide recommendations to sourcing award based on financial analysis of potential suppliers.
Work proactively with risk detection and early warning signals in close cooperation with buyers, to mitigate potential risks for production disturbances due to suppliers’ financial distress. Monitor risky or distressed suppliers and implement mitigations.

RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES:
Up-to-date financial risk scores (measured by KPIs) and assessed risk levels.
Thorough analyses and adequate reporting on financially risky suppliers.

Group Truck Purchasing: Financial Analysts, Purchasing Support Centre, Supplier Host/Buyers, PU Directors/VPs, Supplier Delivery Assurance, Supplier Development Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, Business Office, Business Controlling, Accounting and Corporate Finance
External: Finance departments at Suppliers (CFOs, Controllers, Key Account Mgrs etc.), profession accounting firms (Big 4 accounting firm, etc.)

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BA degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years of experience from similar position, preferably from a Purchasing background
Proficiency in English and Swedish, both spoken and written
Good computer skills (MS Office software programs)

KEY SKILLS AND TARGET LEVELS:
Excellent analytical skills combined with good business understanding. Ability to assess overall risk combining supplier financial data, ownership structure, market intelligence, bankruptcy regulation, Volvo business risk etc.
Problem-solving abilities and good understanding of the Purchasing activity in commercial vehicle industry and business analyses.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong personal credibility, integrity and creativity.
Self-going and with a strong drive to reach solutions.
Team work oriented – build relationships within the organization, share information, and work to achieve common goals.
