Cable distribution cabinets is a product group within ABB’s Electrification business that develops, manufactures and sells enclosures, fusegears and cable connectors which are a vital part of the low voltage distribution network. The products are mainly sold via wholesalers and OEMs in the Nordic countries, primarily to utilities, industrial and commercial building companies via ABB local sales organisations.
As a Quality Supplier Engineer you will be a key player to improve supplier quality and enhancing the entire quality organization throughout the value chain. You will work closely with the team in Alingsås, including SCM, quality and R&D. You will also be a part of a global team of Supplier Quality Engineers within ABB. The person we are looking for has a strong drive and is ready to take charge to lead our “Supplier Integration Program” for improved supplier quality. Most of our suppliers are located in Sweden, but the role will also include some travelling abroad.
Your responsibilities
Be an ABB Alingsås representative in a global ABB-network of Supplier Quality Engineers who together are in charge of ABB's Supplier Integration Program.
Drive the Supplier Integration Program with strategic suppliers for improved supplier quality and production processes, based on Kaizen and lean principles. This includes on-site training of suppliers and ABB personnel.
Conduct supplier process audits for qualification and surveillance.
Implement corrective and preventive actions at internal and external suppliers as follow up from supplier audits and claims.
Support the part approval process (PPAP) for components from suppliers.
Maintain and support quality assurance agreements with suppliers.
Monitor and report supplier quality performance(KPI's).

Your background
Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business Engineering or related
Fluent English (spoken and written) and understand spoken and written Swedish
Strong presentation and persuasiveness skills
A true team player with great communication and people skills, strong willingness to learn as well as to coach others
Problem-solving oriented and structured mindset. Passionate about quality and constantly strive for improvement
Background within Quality Management (ISO 9001) and supplier audits experience
Lean six-sigma qualification
Knowledge in different manufacturing processes
