Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Are you a team player? Do you believe that most things can be done better? Can you easily switch focus when something urgent requires your attention? Would you write a complaint if the new sneakers you bought does not match the description on the homepage? Then you might be born to be a SQA.
Who are we?
Supplier Quality (SQ) is a part of Scania Purchasing with responsibility for quality assurance of new and modified parts from our suppliers.
Our team is an international team and we are responsible for customized solutions. That is all other things that no others are doing. Special applications, Spare parts, Remanufacturing and the buses and much more. We work very closely with the purchasing team and we often have very short lead times. We are probably the team working with the shortest lead times. We bring order to things that are out of order. This position we are hiring for will be two positions following each other. Two persons on paternity leave and the first works with Special orders on trucks and the second works with body building on trucks and buses and specialized components such as cranes, tippers and tail lifts. Think small volumes and large parts.
Who are you?
You have a positive mindset but also a realistic approach to problems. (As SQA:s, we hope for the best but prepare for the worst). You are a quick learner and believes that everything can be improved, and some people might think you are stubborn. You enjoy solving problems and learn from mistakes in order to avoid them in the future. It would be great if you already have experience of quality assurance, manufacturing processes or product development and enjoy working both independent and in teams (teams both as in “groups of people” and “Microsoft Teams”).
Flexibility and willingness to work outside the box, being solution-oriented is crucial. Being persuasive in a clever way can be a success factor. The team is working with very different things but we like to be a tight group and want you to be part of our great team spirit.
What to do?
We are looking for someone to fill the position of two persons going on parental leave (after each other) beginning of December 2021 to end of August 2022.
Your task is to evaluate the supplier's ability to produce parts according to Scania’s requirements. You will also be responsible for release of production processes at suppliers and work with supplier development, including supplier audits and escalations. Normally (which means in a non-pandemic situation) the job contains some traveling. Traveling will be necessary in the extent possible.
A big part is to follow up with suppliers and improve them, on our area we are not always having complete approved suppliers, we help them to get there. Again think low volume, big parts. Some suppliers we need for only small volumes and some for long-term relations. The effort we put per supplier is often in agreement with purchasing colleges.
How to do it?
As an SQA for customized solutions, you work with processes of Quality assurance, such as PPAP, risk assessment, audits as well as Scania-internal processes. Being part of Purchasing you work closely with Purchasers as well as suppliers, and in cross functional cooperation you often work with colleagues within RnD and Production. We expect you to speak up when you not agree, even when you might be the only person in the room with a different opinion. It is not being stubborn when you are right, right?
