Supplier Quality Engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. At the Quality department within Scania Global Purchasing, we are responsible to ensure that our suppliers meet the high-quality demands we set as a premium brand. We now offer the opportunity to join our great team and take an active role to improve quality within our supply chain.

The role

As the Supplier Quality Engineer within Quick Team Transmission, you are the voice of Purchasing located in the plant where gearboxes, axles, and eMachines are produced. This means working in close cooperation with colleagues from R&D, Field Quality, and Production to solve supplier-related quality issues.  The issues can be reported by the end customer (field quality) or when the non-conformance is causing severe cases in our own manufacturing plant. You will also have the opportunity to visit suppliers a couple of times per year.

Your tasks

• Investigate field claims and quality-related delivery stops together in a cross-functional team
• Participate in root cause analysis
• Communicate quality claims to suppliers
• Drive and ensure proper corrective actions from suppliers
• Report progress to management in escalated cases
• Coach Quality Assurance engineers in deviation handling

Our team

You will be part of a team with 11 people located in Sweden, Netherlands, France, and Poland with a diverse mix of gender, age, and background. In this role every day is different, as new challenges will come every day and you are working with all parts assembled in the plant of your responsibility. In our team, we have daily meetings, support each other and have respect for and learn from our differences. As the manager of the team, I am located in the Purchasing office in Södertälje. I have a leadership style that encourages you to take responsibility for and manage your own tasks whilst knowing that I am available to support and guide you when required.

Your profile

We believe you have a technical interest and would like to work in an international environment. You are structured, take initiative, and are eager to contribute to quickly solve quality deviations together in a cross-functional team.

You probably have a technical university degree and/or a couple of years experience in quality assurance-related work and are familiar with problem-solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa diagram, 5 why, etc. As you will communicate with international suppliers, and colleagues around the world, you need to be fluent in both Swedish and English language.
