Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
At the Quality department within Purchasing, we are responsible to ensure that our suppliers meet our high-quality level as a premium brand.
Our team
We now offer the opportunity to join our great team and take an active role to improve quality in the supply chain of Scania. The team consists of 10 people located in Sweden, Netherlands, and France with a diverse mix of gender, age, and background. In this role, no day is similar to the other, as new challenges will come every day and you are working with all parts assembled in the plant you are located in. At the truck assembly plant, this means the complete truck. In our team, we have fun together, support each other and have respect for our differences.
Me as a leader
I have more than 10 years of experience in quality assurance work within the automotive industry and believe in modern leadership, where you take responsibility for your own tasks and have transparent communication, with support and guidance from me as your leader.
The role
As the Supplier Quality Engineer within Quick Team you are the voice of Purchasing located in one of our manufacturing plants in Södertälje. This means working in close co-operation with colleagues from R&D and Production to solve supplier-related quality issues. The issues can come from the end Customer (field quality) or when the non-conformance is causing severe issues in our own manufacturing plant. Commercial negotiation and executing purchasing orders for minor product changes are also part of the job. It could be required to visit suppliers in their plant a couple of times per year.
Your tasks
• Investigate field claims together in the Quick team
• Participate in root cause analysis
• Communicate and drive quality claims and ensure proper corrective actions from suppliers
• Negotiate and place an order for product changes related to field quality issues
• Coach Quality Assurance engineers in deviation handling
Your profile
We believe you have a technical and commercial interest and would like to work in an international environment. You are structured, take initiative, and are eager to contribute to quickly solve quality deviations together in a cross-functional team.
You probably have a technical university degree or a couple of years’ experience in quality assurance-related work and are familiar with problem-solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa diagram, 5 why, etc. As you will communicate with international suppliers, and colleague’s around the world, you need to be fluent in both Swedish and English language.
