Supplier Quality Engineer Electronics

ValueOne is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer in electronics (SQE) for a longer assignment at a manufacturing company in Småland. The assignment must be filled as soon as possible.

The role  

We are looking for a highly qualified Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) within the area of Embedded System, Electronics and Electro-mechanics. This is a role where you will work with quality assurance of suppliers in electronics parts and subassemblies and relevant area in this fields, such as PCBA, assembly processes, connectors, components, electronics packaging robustness and reliability, production testing. Your responsibility covers  establishing, maintaining and improving the supplier quality assurance and development system in the commodity.  

As SQE you will be a part of the global SQA Residential EPAC team, consisting of 10 SQE located globally, and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholder and suppliers in the field of supplier quality.

Travelling to supplier locations globally is included.

Main tasks:

Perform audits on new and existing suppliers.
Actively participate in R&D-projects.
Support in the suppliers' corrective action process.
Develop strategic suppliers.
Manage internal customer relationships and coordinate with Commodity Management.
Work with suppliers and their related departments.
Guide the suppliers in the APQP and PPAP process and evaluate/approve the result of the suppliers APQP and PPAP work.

Experience and competencies  

To be relevant for the role you have a bachelor’s or master degree in Electronics engineering or other relevant discipline. The role also requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as SQE or in relevant areas as well as demonstrated experience in assessments and development of new and existing suppliers. It is important that you have professional knowledge in electronics and mechatronic or related fields. You must also have previous experience from working with electronics production. Knowledge in quality engineering, audit processes and relevant certifications is a prerequisite for the role as well as experience and understanding of working with supplier quality related topics and manufacturing engineering.

In addition the role requires familiarity with manufacturing process of PCBA (SMT & HMT), LCD’s, LED’s, PCB’s, connectors, cables, Li-Io Batteries, environmental protection, production testing, firm wares, electronics reliability and packaging, process requirement specifications and quality control for electronics embedded systems supply chain.

Experience of working with quality systems methods and quality engineering practices (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma and Lean concepts, etc.) is essential.

The person we are looking for needs to be quality minded with strong planning and problem-solving skills as well as self-motivated, result driven and good at collaborating. You are a person who thrives in an innovative organization and willingly contribute with your own ideas. Fluency in English both orally and in writing is required. Swedish is meritorious.
