Supplier Quality Management (SQM) is a global and dynamic organization with high speed. As a Senior Site SQM within Energy Systems you will be part of an exciting and challenging workplace to prosper within. As Senior Site SQM you will have the opportunity to play a key role for the company´s performance in this area. You will be the one who lead the development of our suppliers towards a positive change throughout the company. You will together with your suppliers challenge status quo to continuously improve the result and quality to achieve customer satisfaction. We’re looking for someone with experience from the Lithium-ion battery cell and module area to help ensure that our customers receive the premium quality level they expect.
What you will do
The Regional category SQM for Traction Batteries overall activities are focused on product and process performance at external suppliers, supporting both new programs and running production. In this capacity, you will interact closely with other internal stakeholders such as the Engineering department, Production plants IMQ and Resident SQM. Belonging to the Propulsion procurement organization, you will also be an important member of the category team working closely together with buyers and cost engineers for a specific commodity, in this case batteries.
In addition, you will be responsible for the following activities:
• Lithium-ion battery specialization and knowledge of lithium ion battery cells together with the SQM tools to ensure production achieving the quality targets.
• Early phase involvement to ensure the implementation of lessons learned related to production quality in new projects and products
• Sourcing for Quality and assessing potential suppliers.
• Quality assurance of new vehicle launch, verifying adequacy of related action plans and driving supplier capability, capacity as well as quality assurance process with suppliers APQP.
• Supplier site and quality Improvement and performing SEMAT (Supplier Evaluation and Manufacturing Assessment Tool) at suppliers.
• 8-D / Concern Resolution, Warranty Reduction to ensure timely resolution, verify corrective actions and cascade lessons learned.
Do you fit the profile?
You have a Master degree in Electrochemistry, Material science or equivalent with focus towards battery technology or equivalent experience within the field.
You have practical knowledge and experience in the area of high voltage battery systems, components and power electronics with at least two years of experience of cell production.
You have senior knowledge of quality methods used in automotive industry (e.g. APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D
etc.).
You are fluent in English, have a Driver´s license and ability to travel on frequent basis (incl. long term international travels)

This position is for you who enjoy building and maintaining relationships both within Volvo Cars and externally at our suppliers. You like to take initiatives, ownership and work both independently but also in a team. You enjoy using your communications skills to coach and drive the suppliers forward. You are not afraid to face demanding situations and take action to protect the interests of Volvo Cars and our customers.
