Position Description
Volvo Penta designs, builds and delivers complex power solutions to OEM customers around the world.
Global Supply Chain Management is the central organization responsible for the planning, ordering and distribution of Volvo Penta Engines, Drive Components and Accessories. Global Supply Chain is also responsible for inventory management of all finished products globally, the complete Sales & Operations Planning process and Process Management.
Process Management & Supply Chain Development is a Global Function within Penta Supply Chain. We are responsible for Process Development and Process Management connected to Order Management, Plan & Supply, Inventory Operations and Distribution, Master data & Customs. We also are responsible for Penta Packaging Development.
Volvo Penta is on a exiting journey towards new technology. This means that we will need to rethink and redesign our Supply Chain as of today to suit both current and new products. Main Tasks & Responsibilities
We are now looking for a candidate that will support within the Inbound & Supply Material area. Main focus is Supplier Development and Crisis Management in terms of Logistics . Main scope is Volvo Penta Plants in Vara (SE), Lexington (US), Lingang (CN) and specific suppliers to Volvo Penta
A selection of responsibilities and tasks within this specific role :
Develop and support suppliers in reaching the logistic requirements described in the Key Elements Procedures, KEP 7 :
Follow-up and improve the suppliers dispatch precision (DP)
Root cause analysis, actions & back on track dates in case overall DP
Perform supplier evaluation (Global MMOG/LE)
Support Logistics Manager Sourcing in Sourcing Process
Continuous Improvements
Crisis Management :
Act according to defined escalation ladder
Follow emergency routines in case of critical material shortages
Risk Analyses & Mitigation Activities
Represent Supply Chain and operations in company taskforces
Coordination with involved Stakeholders
Support Projects within Inbound Supply Chain Management
An ideal candidate would have :
Experience from Inbound Supply Chain Management
Appropriate Academic Qualifications or equivalent working experience
Strong analytical skills & skilled in communication
Ability to inspire and motivate suppliers to drive change and improvements
Leadership skills
Ability to prioritize and plan the daily work
Holistic view
Quick analyze and decision taking
Ability to travel with short notice
