Your mission
As Supply Chain Data Engineer, you are primarily responsible for ensuring high quality data flows between our ERP systems and our global planning system (GIM). Correct data is critical to ensure visibility and decision making, thereby reducing inventory, and improving parts availability.

You will review functional GIM specifications and collect sample data for GIM data quality development. You will do mapping of GIM data requirements and business rules to the various source systems, along with the GIM planning proposals towards the execution systems, so that we know how we can use the data in the most efficient and beneficial way.

To thrive in this role, you should have a passion for data science. However, this is an engineering position, and you understand that supply chain data only generates real value when it’s transformed into a format that enables the right decision making and problem solving. Rather than delegate that transformation task over to someone else, you get your hands dirty working directly with data and systems yourself. You also understand the value of training and coaching users across the world.

The scope of the Supply Chain Data Engineer will be adjusted to the seniority of the final candidate. If you’re fresh out of university but with a passion for data science and machine learning, we’ll focus on the basics of GIM data quality as we help you grow. If you’ve got more experience, you can lead a project to create a Common Data Model or drive automation and intelligence in our systems via machine learning platforms.

Your profile
You are a data scientist or IT specialist who got pulled in towards supply chain management, for example by working with systems or data modelling at a Planning department. Or perhaps you are a supply chain professional who realized the best way to improve results was to write code and dig into systems. Either way, you’re passionate about data.

You have a university degree in Information Systems Engineering, Data Science, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience. You know SQL or Python, and ideally you have experience with Databricks, Dataiku DSS, or similar data science software platforms.

This is a global role and supply chain management is a team sport. As such, you enjoy collaborating and brainstorming with other data experts at Epiroc & our partner companies to drive continuous improvement of data quality.

As our corporate language is English, strong English communication skills both verbal and written is required.

Location
This position is located in Örebro or Fagersta, Sweden.
