At ABB Traction Motors in Västerås, we develop, manufacture and sell electrical motors with focus on rail applications and the e-mobility segment. This position will provide you with many opportunities and interesting challenges on both local and global levels.
If you are ready for a challenge, you should become our new Supply Quality Engineer.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the purchased material alignment with the specification and requirements, supplier quality performance and continuous improvement. You will be working with quality processes, covering the chain from project start to delivery to customer.
You will be reporting to our Quality Manager.
Your responsibilities
Responsible for leading the initial sample approving process. This will include a close cooperation with other functions within the organization and including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
Ensuring that the supplier qualification process is executed in full and that the relevant suppliers are and remain fully qualified and compliant from a quality assurance perspective.
Handling and drive the part deviation process with suppliers from deviation detected to approved 8D-report with corrective actions.
Follow up supplier level of quality (PPAP) through quality and control plans.
Working in close cooperation with SCM (buyers, sourcing team) to ensure the best supplier base from a quality perspective and, when needed, be responsible for improvement projects in cross-functional teams.
Working with sourcing team for new supplier assessment and qualification.
Coach and support our suppliers with quality assurance activities and perform audits at suppliers.
Support the production quality team in non-performance activities such as internal failures, customer complaint and supplier deviations but also with quality assurance of incoming goods.
Your background
At least 3 years of professional experience in areas of quality assurance, quality management or in the field of materials management which include direct contact with suppliers.
Experience in supporting local operations and service in handling supplier nonperformance mitigation actions.
You are a solutions-oriented person that like daily business but also drive for development and structure.
Working both in teams and independently gives you energy and you feel comfortable with delivering results on deadlines.
You express yourself well, verbally and in writing, in both English and Swedish and you enjoy meeting customers in the workshop for audits, validation of products etc.
You have knowledge and skills to use common quality tools as 8D-report etc.
We value a high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
