What we do
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine what it means to own a vehicle during one of most innovative times in the transport industry. Volvo Cars is looking to redefine all aspects of the car ecosystem including ownership, autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, sustainability, and online shopping. We are now seeking a Support Engineer to join us!

At Global Technical Support, you are part of a global team with the purpose to safeguard that our consumers continuously have the freedom to move, by providing preventative and precise support for our mobility solutions. Our mission is to provide customers with solutions for their problems by acting preventatively, at high speed with maximum precision.

* Talking to colleagues in China regarding how to fault trace a car with hybrid drivability symptoms. 
* Partners in Italy ping you to connect to a retailer workshop to assist with software download. 
* Joining colleagues at R&D to have a meeting regarding next steps for a Battery Electric Vehicle. 
* Handling cases with different technical questions where it’s important with correct, swift, and timely response as we help workshops to repair the cars for our customers.
* Presenting a PowerPoint slide show at one of our Tips & Trix sessions with the global tech support community over Teams.
* Setting up logging equipment and send to a car in a workshop in South Africa.
* Flying to our Technical Helpdesk Colleagues in Brussels, bringing your normal work with you but change office to exchange ideas “over the desk” and visit a car with a strange symptom in a local workshop.
* For the next coming car models, there is new technology on its way for Autonomous Drive and you are self-driven and establish contacts with the development team to gain knowledge on how it is supposed to work which you later share with the support community.


As a Support Engineer, you are the interface between markets, Current Model Quality, and other problem-solving functions within Volvo Cars. You will play a key role in our continuous change in finding solutions to problems and get our products repaired and back in customer hands, and all workweeks will be different.

You and your skills
You are a true team player who collaborates across teams, levels, and locations, as interacting and balancing internal stakeholders is a part of every workday. We believe you are curious and good at networking and making contacts, which is necessary in this position to solve problems. You are a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment, and a person with high integrity who is comfortable standing up for your findings in a way that creates trust. 

We believe you have 1-2 years of analytical work experience, after your university graduation in a technical field of engineering. As you will be communicating with stakeholders globally, it is very important to have solid verbal and written English skills, as well as strong presentation skills. Most of all, we believe you are strongly passionate about the technical side of our cars, with the end-customer in focus and pushing our innovation forward.

After-market experience is meritorious, as well as experience from Electric Vehicle, Hybrid, Autonomous Drive & Connectivity technical experience.
