Arbetsbeskrivning
Would you like to be a part of a startup with a focus on electromobility and innovation? Are you curious about technology and want to work on technical testing and analysis related to electromobility and energy storage? At SEEL, we are establishing testing infrastructure and conducting activities that enable technical research and concept development.
Now, we are expanding and strengthening our team with this and several other roles!
About Us
SEEL, the Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, is a collaboration between Chalmers and RISE for research and development of electromobility. SEEL is currently completing the establishment of three state-of-the-art testing facilities in Gothenburg, Nykvarn, and Borås. The goal of SEEL is to improve efficient knowledge building and collaboration to accelerate the development of electrified transportation.
The automotive, aerospace, and maritime sectors, together with developers of relevant technology, will gain the possibility to test prototypes and products at independent test facilities with brand new equipment. We currently have around 30 dedicated employees at SEEL and are expanding rapidly.

About the Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing interfaces between test objects and rigs. In the electrical area, you ensure that the equipment is correct and up to date. Furthermore, you ensure the quality of equipment (test objects and measurement technology) before and during testing and build good relationships with external and internal customers during the process. In the long term, you work on continuous development of operations and methods and contribute to increased collaboration within SEEL. You will have significant responsibilities with both technical and area-specific responsibilities, as well as some budget responsibilities over time. When needed, you will also participate in SEEL's management team meetings.
You'll also work on:
- Being a bridge to customers during preparation and troubleshooting of test objects
- Building necessary adapters, cables, and connectors
- Contributing to a good working environment in the area
- Ensuring that tool and measurement equipment calibration is done within specifications and on time
- Developing methods for relevant areas
- Troubleshooting hardware and software, as well as preparing test objects and measurement technology, if necessary, in collaboration with customers or rig supervisors
- Mentoring and developing junior technicians
You will report to Director Powertrain Testing. The position is located in Nykvarn, at our new facility. Occasional travel may be required a few times a year.
Who Are You?
To succeed in this role, you should have at least a technical high school education, but most likely a post-secondary engineering degree or equivalent work experience. You have several years of relevant experience and industry knowledge in the automotive sector, which has given you knowledge of typical test objects for an operation like SEEL's. You should be willing to provide basic training and have practical experience in electrical work and soldering.
As a person, you are attentive, proactive, responsible, and highly motivated to solve problems. You have the ability to quickly switch between different tasks and be skilled at prioritizing. Proficiency in English and Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement, as well as a B driver's license. C and D driver's licenses and a forklift license are advantageous but not mandatory.
Are we a good fit?
At our place, passionate problem solvers come together to tackle some of the world's most important, and perhaps most enjoyable, challenges. We can't promise you an easy job, but what we can promise you is a group of dedicated colleagues and some truly exciting societal challenges to address. With us, you have the opportunity to make a real difference. Welcome to the future of electromobility.
