SURFACE DESIGNER

We at ALTEN are now looking for a Surface Designer with a possible scope within Interior/Exterior Class-A Surfacing.

We think that design is a crucial part of creating a product identity for the customer to relate to. The automotive industry is strongly influenced by the Scandinavian origin, with elegance, function and purity of lines as strong design elements. Here you get a chance the be involved in this influence to create elegancy and fuction. As a person we hope that you have a good sense of form and a “nothing is impossible attitude” is required. We expect you to be a self-going, top of the line modeller. To be successful in this position we think that you have an open and positive attitude and the ability to act independently and professionally. Even though you should be able to work independently you need to be able to works within close teams if necessary. We value your passion for working with automotive development and also have a genuine interest in design

We are looking for a Senior Surface Designer with excellent skills in ICEM Surf for our interior/exterior team. The task will be to develop interior surface models in early or late phases of the design process. Main input will be sketches rough alias models from designers and scan data from clay models combined with technical input from studio engineers.

We would like to see that you are a top of the line modeller with at least six years of experience from class-A modelling within the automotive business. You know the technical prerequisites of cars and you should have good knowledge witihin Alias and ICEM-SURF. Your skills in Catia should be at least basic. Your english must be good both verbal and in writing. Experience from both interior and exterior modelling is a merit. It is also a merit fi you have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. within engineering.
