Surface Treatments & Coatings Engineer

You will be part of the Advanced Development for Cutting Equipment & Accessories within R&D for Handheld Ecosystem at Husqvarna. At Cutting Equipment & Accessories, we develop different kinds of accessory equipment for Husqvarna products, as for example protective equipment, communication equipment, forest tools and cutting equipment for wood and grass.
Work assignment
This position is within the field of Cutting equipment in the Husqvarna Forest and Garden segment. You will work with cutting technology for chainsaws, and you will be involved in development and evaluation of new hard surface treatments with focus on wear resistance.
Your main challenge will be to optimize, develop and industrialize functional hard surface treatments on steels for wear in different cutting technology applications. You will work together with internal colleagues, and you will be the contact person towards external collaboration partners. You will in a structured way characterize, analyze and document results as well as proposing and initiate development activities.
In this position you will be part of a strong team where you will support the group goals by driving, optimizing, developing and industrializing surface treatments for cutting equipment with a long-term view.
Your profile
Required education:
Master of Science or Ph.D. in a field related to materials science, surface treatments and metals

Skills and experiences:
Theoretical knowledge and practical experience from surface treatments, metals and material chemistry.
5+ years of working experience in the field of materials science or surface treatments
Experience from characterization methods as OM, SEM, & hardness measurement equipment.

Merits
Experience from characterization methods as XRD, EDS & EBSD.
Project lead experience
Experience from both university and industry.
