Sustainability & Circularity Electronics Engineer at Volvo Group Trucks Technology // Gothenburg
About the role
Are you passionate about sustainability and ready to make a meaningful impact? If so, we think you'll be interested in this exciting opportunity! As a sustainability and circularity expert, you will work closely with the x-functional team of engineers responsible for specifying, designing and buying electronic components for our trucks. Due to the expanding complexity and importance of the EE architecture in the trucks, you will play an essential role in our newly created team. By interviewing and collaborating with our product owners and suppliers, you will investigate the CO2 impact of our electronic components and work out a plan for how to secure that we continuously improve and minimize the impact on our planet. You will report to the group manager of the Semiconductors & Computational Modules group. Limited travelling is needed. You will have colleagues in Bangalore, and it is always good to meet F2F at least once per year. It could also be relevant to visit suppliers and get a deeper understanding of their sustainability work.
Additional responsibilities:
Stay up to date with the current product and solutions and analyze and document its environmental impact.
Collaborate with other sustainability experts, component owners and suppliers to develop improvement strategies.
Continuously support the implementation of the changes decided and follow up the progress of the approved strategy.

You have good insight and curiosity in sustainability and circularity methods and an ability to assess their possibilities and risks. Last but not least, you are a true team player who thrives on new challenges and enjoys working both independently and in a team.
Requirements:
M.Sc. degree in Electronics and Industrial ecology, or equivalent.
Knowledge in embedded electronics development.
Knowledge in sustainability and circularity theories and methods, like assessing sustainability, life cycle assessments, environmental risk assessment and circular economy.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
