Sustainability Feature Strategist at Volvo Group Trucks Technology

WHO ARE WE?
Strategic Product Planning (SPP) is a highly strategic and influential function within Group Trucks Technology (GTT), as we support the entire Volvo Group navigate the transformation and set the direction of a visionary and holistic product plan driving the Group’s long terms ambitions.
SPP is a global function with team members located in Sweden, France, USA and Brazil, as well as actively working with colleagues and stakeholders across all Volvo Group’s locations worldwide. We are passionate about defining, analyzing, and translating business requirements and user needs into meaningful and desirable commercial solutions. We constantly strive to increase innovation and efficiency through collaboration, always aiming at delivering the most inspiring product offer in the industry.
THE POSITION
Climate change, population growth and increasing urbanization are shifting the landscape and expectations on transport and infrastructure. In all our actions, we must consider how to reduce climate impact, use the world’s resources more efficiently, and conduct business more responsibly. The transportation industry has an important role to play in the decarbonization of society, and the shift towards electrification is taking place here and now, with the pace of change increasing.
Volvo Group’s ambition is to reach net-zero GHG emissions by 2040 and minimize resource use and waste towards a circular economy.
We are now strengthening our team with a Sustainability Feature Strategist.
In your role you will be responsible for the Sustainability Feature Strategy for products developed by GTT and guide the organization towards our sustainability targets including our net-zero target. Your focus will mainly be a from cradle-to-gate perspective, i.e., the full environmental footprint from raw materials extraction, product definition, product design, etc. until it leaves the factory. You will also give clear directions to create business value through circular solutions.
You will be a core member in the Group Trucks Technology Sustainability Core Team and a key stakeholder in the Sustainability Community within the Volvo Group. This is a true cross-functional role where you will work with both internal and external stakeholders to set the directions and targets.
WHO ARE YOU?
As the automotive industry is currently undergoing the biggest transformation in its history, a holistic future-oriented and strategic mindset is a key skill of yours.
We believe that you have been working with net zero carbon industry transitions (automotive is a plus) and got a solid knowledge of sustainability in areas such as circular economy, sustainable technologies and raw material, sustainability measurement & analytics, SBTi target setting and relevant regulation towards circularity.
You are used to influence through insights and analytics, and in close collaboration with key stakeholders making bold decisions that results in successful achievement.
Probably you got great skills in strategic thinking and business acumen that you easily can translate into strategic direction and goals. You possess strong analytical abilities and master the task to address complex questions with a data-driven approach, and with the ability to present and visualize information clearly.
Your great appetite to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams have over the years given you the experience in how you influence stakeholders at all levels.
