We are now seeking a Sustainability Leader to join our Sustainability team in Älmhult, Sweden, helping to make this ambition a reality.
Job Description
The Sustainability Leader supports the business development teams to set priorities, develop and implement common action plans with suppliers to meet sustainability goals, in line with Category Plans, within specific areas of expertise (e.g energy, water, waste, recycled materials etc..).
Defines Sustainability priorities and goals and secures the right pre-conditions to reach and follow up on goals, as part of Category Plans and contributes to the growth of business by providing specific support and competence for suppliers’ development
Develop and manage project plans according to outlined scope, ensuring alignment with key internal stakeholders and driving toward business objectives.
Supports the business development teams in the sustainability assessment of potential new and existing suppliers, as well as motivates existing suppliers and business development teams to continuously identify new sustainability related business opportunities
Responsible to collect, verify, aggregate and report the relevant Category suppliers sustainability data (SSI) and make a yearly action plan for each supplier, providing relevant analysis to support business decisions
Support suppliers in the implementation and development of IWAY (IKEAs code of conduct) and make it an integral part of their management systems in close alignment with the Purchasing & Logistics Areas
Lead and/or support sustainability related supplier development projects in alignment with category plans and priorities
Support business development teams in implementation of global sustainability working methods, tools and IT-systems
Be an active member of the relevant Global Matrix Group and contribute to the sustainability agenda development by leading and/or contributing to global development projects. Act as an ambassador of the IKEA values and spread Sustainability knowledge to co-workers around you.
