Welcome to Category Area Wood, the home of five wood related categories. With about 300 co-workers and 200 suppliers across the world, we create a strong wood supply chain for more sustainable and affordable IKEA products for the many.
Wood is an essential material and important part of the IKEA heritage. In Category Area Wood, we procure and source wood-based articles that our many customers enjoy amongst which are iconic IKEA families such as BILLY, PAX, IVAR, KALLAX, POÄNG and our kitchen ranges.

In the position as Sustainability Leader, you will, together with the Category Area Sustainability Manager, contribute to the sustainability development and performance of IKEA Food Purchasing. A Sustainability Leader is goal oriented and business-minded with a genuine sustainability interest. The Sustainability Leader will lead implementation in a simple and straightforward way. Leading development projects across the Category will ensure the ability to lead and drive areas of responsibility, on your own as well as through others.
Your main responsibilities will include:
· Lead our sustainability developers in implementation of requirements and development of suppliers.
· Train and inspire our sustainability developers and business teams.
· Together with sustainability developer you will collect, verify, aggregate and report sustainability data and provide input to supplier action plan to meet our sustainability goals.
· Support sustainability related supplier development projects in alignment with Category plans and priorities.
Qualifications
About You
To be successful in the role we see that you need the following knowledge and experience:
· A structured approach in analysis and in evaluating different aspects of an issue to be able to support business decisions.
· Strong in leadership.
· Balancing business and sustainability.
· Strong in communicating to enable cooperation with IKEA business teams and suppliers.
· English, verbal and written.
· Sustainability knowledge for renewable energy and responsible sourcing (experience from sourcing of animal derived raw materials is beneficial).
You will report to the Sustainability Manager in Category Area Wood.
Job location is Purchasing and Logistics Area North, Älmhult, Sweden.
