About the job
The demands from our customers, investors and the society reflect the higher emphasis on sustainability and for Alfa Laval this means also reaching out to our supplier partners. The corporate sustainability agenda and The Alfa Laval Business Principles play an integral role in our sourcing process.
We are looking for a sustainability manager to lead our sustainability development based on the sourcing strategy and aligned with the corporate sustainability agenda. You will play a vital role in the company journey to reach the company’s high ambition within the sustainability area.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Setting a sustainability strategy together with sourcing management team
* Ensure alignment between the sourcing sustainability strategy and the Global Alfa Laval sustainability strategy
* Develop and sustain sustainability competence within the sourcing community
* Develop and improve the sustainability processes.
* Develop regional ways of working based on sourcing strategy and targets
* Build strategic relationship with key stakeholders
* Keep up to date on emerging trends in sustainability area related to sourcing
* Establish, follow up and communicate measurable performance metrics and targets within the sourcing community and key stakeholders such as Group Sustainability
In this role you work closely with our global sourcing community, and will be the main spokesperson on sustainability towards stakeholders relevant to the function (e.g. regional manager, purchasing manager and suppliers). You will be part of the sourcing management team and have 4 lead auditors in various countries.
Who you are
To succeed and strive in this role, you should have a curious mindset as you engage both yourself and key stakeholders in the implementation of our sustainability strategy, conscious of both the business needs, cultural differences and various risks. When driving the sustainability agenda, you need to be motivated taking own initiatives on various activities, analysing goals and needs as well as being able to follow up on the business and sustainability impact from various measures. As a spokesperson on sustainability, you need to have strong interpersonal- and networking skills as a influence within the global sourcing community, with the ability to communicate in both spoken and written English in various situations and formats.
What you know
We believe you have a master’s degree in engineering or sustainability or similar. Experience working with sustainability or responsible sourcing in a global setting. Project management skills, preferable green belt or black belt certification. It would also be meritorious if you have experience from audits in the areas of CSR/BP/SC/EHS and experience from conducting training
