We are looking for a Sustainability Manager who will be responsible for execution of sustainability programmes in Nordics. Focus is on developing and implementing collection and recycling programmes for post-consumer packages.
This will be done by securing strong recycling infrastructure and capacity through identifying and developing recycling partners in these markets, working in tandem with industry coalitions and PROs to establish and expand effective collections network.
You will drive raising the value in the collection and recycling chain and therefore be instrumental in enabling the expansion of beverage carton recycling across the region (Sweden, Finland and Denmark).
What you will do
As a Sustainability Manager, you will:
Drive sustainability programmes to implement the Tetra Pak Strategy 2030 in North Europe (mainly focusing on Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland).
Achieve sustainability targets incl. collection and recycling, responsible for planning and execution of key deliverables including recycling investments, value chain activities, and representation in industry associations
Manage large-sized and strategic projects, external stakeholder/partner engagement, and value chain actions
Drive circular economy activities and engagement with industry PROs and coalitions, waste management collectors and cooperatives; recycling businesses; NGOs etc. and support public affairs colleagues with policy and government engagement
Drive recycling targets within the markets by working closely with value chain partners to secure and develop recycling capacities and collection networks
Support development of short and long-term collection and recycling programmes
Driving continues improvement of recycling solutions
Support recyclers and other stakeholders in their business development
Maintain data about recycling market infrastructure and capacities. Maintain and regularly update the recycling value chain
Secure compliance with local collection/recycling regulation as needed. Provide data for reliable accounting and reporting of recycling rates
Support our key customers in driving their environmental agenda through implementation of programmes and partnerships agreed with customers and aligned with Marketing Managers/Directors and Key Account Managers/Directors
Work closely with communications team to ensure effective circular economy communications strategy execution
We believe you have
Min 5 years’ relevant experience in sustainability, ideally also in business development
Minimum education of master’s degree, preferable in environment/engineering, business management, sustainability/circular economy or related discipline
Native level fluency in Swedish and English
Can travel regularly, mainly within the assigned region (20%)
Sound strategic thinking, business analysis and negotiating skills
Strong passion for sustainability
Strong drive to deliver results and continuously improve the way of working
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
Excellent skills in linking strategy to operations and in planning and organizing work
Strong project management skills
