We offer you the chance to be a part of a global environment, developing the next generation modularized world class robot platform. In this role you will have the chance to set up processes and guide our path towards our sustainability targets, including incorporating circular economy concepts in the design process, and directing our journey towards carbon neutrality. Your first task will be to lead the work of developing a life cycle assessment (LCA) for our new robots. At the same time, you will be setting up our processes for how LCA should be done in the future and identifying hotspots to continue work on improving the environmental footprint for our products.
The role is reporting to R&D Sub-Site Manager Mechanics.


Your responsibilities
Lead the work of conducting sustainability related projects or sub-projects, e.g., Life Cycle assessments.
Work in close collaboration with design engineers, supply, and quality departments within the development projects and suggest solutions and guiding the products towards more sustainable solutions, raising awareness for ABB’s sustainability targets and initiatives.
Develop, propose, and implement processes incorporating sustainability in the development projects locally in alignment with central initiatives and strategy.
In collaboration with other functions improve our processes in working with material compliance.
Contribute to effective risk management as well as strategic technology direction of sustainability related issues in the projects by providing advice on decisions to the respective development and technology project.
Drives behavioral change, implementation of practices and performance improvement programs locally to ensure a strong focus on sustainability throughout the R&D organization.
Providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of tools, processes, and methods to assure consideration of sustainability in the solutions developed.

Your background
A MSc in Industrial Ecology or equivalent
Knowledge in circular economy concepts and methodology, as well as familiarity with Life-cycle assessment is an advantage
Strong interest and motivation to contribute to a sustainable future, and drive change in the organization
Experience from electronics or industrial automation industry is an advantage
Experience of leading projects, including strong communication skills, collaborating in teams, taking initiative, and a solution focused approach
Experience of working with SAP R3 and SAP Hana is considered an advantage
Fluency in English is a requirement, Swedish and Chinese are considered advantages
