About the Role
This role is a permanent position with no probation period.
In line with Essity’s overall strategy Global Procurement will support to provide sustainable products and solutions, made and delivered with respect for people and nature, to our customers and consumers. Sustainable Procurement’s key area of responsibility is to secure social, ethical and environmental demands related to Essity’s sourcing activities globally and to minimize business and ethical risks to Essity. Sustainable Procurement is an integral part of Essity’s procurement and supplier management processes to identify and mitigate potential social, ethical and environmental risks in the supplier base globally.
What You Will Do
As a Sustainable Procurement manager, you will be part of the Sustainable Procurement team within Global Procurement and your main areas of responsibilities will be:
Support in the development and implementation of our Sustainability targets to secure we source from suppliers who share the same values, as outlined in our Global Supplier Standard (www.essity.com/gss), to promote responsible business practices and respect for human rights and the environment in our supplier base globally
Work globally to coordinate with and support the Procurement teams to assure the integration of social, ethical and environmental (e.g. emissions) performance factors into the process of selecting and monitoring suppliers
Secure implementation of our key compliance tools e.g. Global Supplier Standard, Sedex, Anti-corruption screening. Collaborate with Essity’s external audit partner to plan social/ethical audits of suppliers in high risk countries for human rights’ violations
Act as a matter expert related to sustainability questions in Essity’s supplier base. Showcasing profound competence related to our tools and procedures as well as to external factors such as human rights due diligence legislation, environmental legislation, market trends and customer/consumer expectations
Support the development and implementation of procedure and tools, to be used by our Procurement teams to secure compliance from new and incumbent suppliers. This includes risks assessment tools and information related to social, ethical and environmental performance of the suppliers
Keep yourself up to date with the Essity's sustainability agenda and targets and what are the priorities from the Business Units and Categories
Act partner to the Business Units and support with specific customer and consumer requests related to social, ethical and environmental compliance of our supplier base globally
Development and implementation of trainings related to the various Sustainable Procurement topics (e.g. targets, tools, procedures, risk exposure) to our Procurement teams
Assure close and pro-active collaboration with all internal stakeholders (e.g. Procurement, Business Units, Global Supply Chain) to drive the Sustainable Procurement agenda throughout the entire supply chain



Who You Are
To be successful in the role you are a good communicator with presentation skills. You have a drive for results, are analytical and thrives working with stakeholders at all levels. Since you will be working in a team, you need to be a team player and collaborate well with others. Furthermore, to succeed in this job, we believe that you have good interpersonal skills, a strong willingness to learn as well as having a positive attitude.
University degree (Business Administration or technical degree is preferred). Preferably with Sustainability profile
2-3 years’ experience from practical Sustainable Procurement and Sustainability activities related to supply chain. Experience from Supply Chain and/or Procurement is qualifying.
Proven track record of successful execution of supplier ethical and environmental assurance activities in either Procurement or Sustainability organization, with close relations to customers and suppliers
Excellent knowledge of English language, both oral and written
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Risk Management, SRM, Business Planning

As part of the Sustainable Procurement team working in an international environment it is also required and that candidates are prepared to travel minimum 20 days per year.
