Welcome to the International School of Kungsholmen, a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, where we offer an exciting opportunity to embark on your international teaching adventure. With English as our primary language of instruction, our school follows the IB curriculum, emphasizing global mindedness, student agency, and thematic inquiry across a wide range of subjects.
We are currently seeking a SVA teacher for our students from åk 1 - 6 for the 23/24 academic year. This is a full-time position.
Job Description:
Plan and implement Units of Inquiry aligned with the IB PYP & MYP curriculum to support students' language development in SVA.
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that respects students' diverse cultural backgrounds.
Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance language learning experiences.
Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders to support learners' overall well-being and educational progress.
Assess and monitor students' language development, providing timely feedback and support.
Individualize instruction based on students' language proficiency levels and learning styles.

Additional Language Acquisition: Understanding how learners acquire an additional language and applying effective methodologies and best practices in the classroom.
Multiculturalism and Intercultural Communication: Embracing diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives to create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
Pedagogy and Teaching Strategies: Exploring research-based instructional approaches, differentiation, and effective strategies for teaching language skills.
Assessment and Evaluation: Utilizing diverse assessment tools and techniques to measure language proficiency and monitor student progress.
Collaborating with Colleagues: Engaging in professional collaboration, sharing ideas, and collaborating with fellow educators to exchange insights and enhance teaching practices.
Our close-knit campus accommodates 250 students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, fostering a supportive environment with small class sizes. You'll have the opportunity to work with international staff who are dedicated to their subject areas and in furthering their development by incorporating new technology, philosophies, and lesson ideas into their teaching.
