We shape the world we want to live in!

Volvo Energy is our newest business area with the overarching purpose of accelerating electrification and driving circularity for a better tomorrow. With an agile approach and a can-do mindset, we actively work to ensure the acceleration of the electrification transformation every day in all that we do. As the Volvo Group, we are driving circularity in our industry forward in these important areas.

We are now looking for a new leader to join our team as Head of Battery Optimization and Monitoring Technology.

You will be given a unique opportunity to shape and drive the development of Volvo Energy together with a set of skilled and committed colleagues. Together, we will work on solutions that drive economically viable circularity and take us to a sustainable future. With high speed and agility, we support the Volvo Group to meet and exceed customers’ expectations, thereby contributing to the society we all want to live in.

As the Head of Battery Optimization and Monitoring Technology, you will be a member of the Volvo Energy Executive Leadership Team (VE ELT). You will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden and manage a growing team of experts in India and Sweden.

Key responsibilities include:
Build and lead an agile team of great individuals.
Optimize the complete battery life cycle of batteries, establish a system to monitor batteries in real-time, continuously decide on the next steps for the monitored object and be a primary partner in developing services around batteries.
Work with the key stakeholders to develop services and capabilities, both in first and second life, especially in the area of safety and predictive maintenance.
For our second-life batteries, secure a viable product range, either in-house or together with partners and support the sales organization.
For applicable partnerships and as relevant – participate in, assume leadership of and/or create new ones.
Together with the other ELT members, develop and drive all aspects of Volvo Energy forward to meet our ambitious targets.

Qualifications likely required to be successful:
University degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, software, mechatronics or equivalent.
Significant experience in battery systems, battery energy storage systems, energy management and related components.
Excellent knowledge in building frameworks (process, methods, strategies, plans) and leveraging intrapreneurial skills in large, cross-functional organizations.

Making it a success for yourself and Volvo Energy

Welcome to a global team unified by an important mission, great ideas, fun, diversity, and inclusion. Our colleagues are - and will always be - the most important part of the story, as each colleague truly matters and plays an essential role in our journey.

To succeed, we believe you are a leader with a strong ability to engage, lead and coach, as this job is all about collaboration and leading the way in your field. For us, leading the way means that you should be a good listener and communicator, and it is easy for you to connect with, engage and inspire others. You have a solid ability to form trustworthy relationships to effectively work with partners - inside and outside the Volvo Group – in a cross-functional manner.

You welcome this chance to work smart, modern and innovative, where we are the catalysts to make our desired future happen. You share our curiosity for new technologies, tools, and ways of working and constantly want to take it to the next level. We look for colleagues who thoroughly enjoy this entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial challenge, can hit the ground running, lead with passion, perform with purpose, and transform with vision.

If our entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration and customer-focused mindset light your inner fire, we might be a great match!
