The group Brake & Vehicle Dynamics Software and Electronics are one group of three at the section Brakes, Controls and Wheels & Tires within Vehicle Control & Chassis - Volvo Car Group´s Research and Development division. Vehicle Control & Chassis are responsible for initiating and drive Research and Development of Chassis Systems, Safety Functions and Electronics as well as Vehicle Dynamics Attributes on all Volvo Car Groups cars Page Content. Trough passionate and innovative co-workers we create chassi systems and integrated safety systems that make us leading within Driving Dynamics and Active safety. The group Brake & Vehicle Dynamics SW and Electronics are responsible to realize brake and dynamic function in the vehicle in all vehicle programs and over the entire life cycle. The group is responsible for function realization, system design, hardware development and software development of e.g Brake -functions, -switches and sensors.

As SW Engineer Brake Electronics you will be responsible for SW development. You will report to Lead Engineer and Project leader.

Main responsibilities

* Develop and set up requirement specifications on SW, collaboration with System Engineers for all interfacing systems to ensure correct requirements
* Develop component specifications in a database environment (Elektra)
* Lead minor tasks and support Lead Engineer in major tasks
* Support concept and projects leaders in evaluate of suppliers implementation, quality assurance and balancing of conflicting requirements
* Lead and participate in specification reviews to assure good quality
* Guarantee that all requirements within area of responsibility are communicated and understood by the supplier and internal SW teams
* Failsafe/root cause analyse and test in vehicle
* Diagnostic handling
* Give input to time plans for all design, SW deliveries and quality assuring work to meet overall projects
* Participate in quotation process of new projects as a technical expert

Required qualifications

* B.Sc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* At least 5 years of industrial experience in designing and Software development and quality assurance of electrical components (SW R&D)
* Knowledge of Embedded Systems
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* Driver's license, B

Meritorious qualifications

* Experience from requirement handling in a database environment, preferably Elektra
* An asset would be good knowledge in following system: Canalyzer, INCA, Elektra, CarCom, KDP, PIE, VPDS, SWI, VQDC
* Experience of Safety requirements, System Safety ISO 26262 within the automotive industry
* Experience in use of commercial simulation tools, such as Matlab/Simulink
* Experience from Volvo Car Group projects as well as project management
* Experience of other electrical base technologies (such as network design or communication, diagnostics)
* Experience of AUTOSAR and Software programming

* Capable of develop and maintain a network position
