Software Test Engineer

The department Climate system is responsible for compartment climatisation and thermal comfort within Volvo Car Corporation, e. g. heating, ventilation, air distribution, air quality, AC systems, controls and testing. The responsibility of the group is reaching from customer functionality to software (SW), as well as SW calibration. You will be working in a smaller SW team with cross functional interface with other development teams, both in Hardware (HW) and SW teams. We are a very customer focused team with close relation to our end customers. Everything we do has to be built in a way that is logic for the customer in order to fulfill their expectations. This means that although working with one part of the climate system, you will be part of the complete climate function, giving every year new exciting challenges.
As Software Test Engineer you will support the SW development team with testing and fault tracing, but it may also include some SW development. You will use virtual and physical methods for the assignment. Responsibilities are stretching from pre-development to running production programs and you will be working with people within and outside the department. Together with SW engineers your responsibility is to secure internal SW quality and support SW development. Build test environments for rig testing and develop user cases to test. It may also include some customer function testing in vehicle and rig. You will plan and perform the testing and participate on test trips both within Sweden and abroad with the climate and other interfacing teams
Main responsibilities
* Develop and secure SW testing of climate in house SW
* Participate in requirement development and support field testing, expeditions
* Support analyses of field quality issues, perform fault analyses and suggest corrective actions
* Develop test environment, test cases and SW test processes
* In-house SW testing and creation of test environment for rig testing
* Analyse test results and report faults internally or in different issue management systems
* Lead SW test development and support requirement development
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. within electronics, physics or similar
* Experience of SW testing
* Experience of working with Simulink/Targetlink and Python
* Experience of Thermodynamics is meritorious
* Experience from automotive industry, climate systems, in-vehicle diagnostics and tools and HW in loop testing is meritorious
