Our employees pave the way for Uniper’s success and future. We work together and engage in meaningful dialog. At Uniper, employees can develop and strengthen their individual skills. We embrace entrepreneurial spirit and take responsibility, at every level of the Group. We have a joint approach, and our core values guide the Group’s daily work and how we perform our various activities. We call it “The Uniper Way”.
What we are looking for
Decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants at Uniper
Uniper in Sweden is responsible for the execution and decommissioning a total of four reactors, at the Barsebäck nuclear power plant in Sweden together with units 1 and 2 of the Oskarshamn. The execution and decommissioning are organized in work packages implementing set sequences, to maximize safety, leverage experiences, and to refine decommissioning methods streamlining work when moving from one reactor to the next.
The work package’s life span starts with an engineering phase where waste routing methods are designed, and initial procurement conducted. During the execution phase, material is dismantled, and the waste byproduct is measured and controlled to ensure its compliance to requirements. The finial product is then shipped to its agreed destination. Finally, while executing the NDD in close cooperation with our customers, we have high focus on delivery and ensure high performance and transparent communication on risks while maintaining requirements and expectations. Safety regarding both conventional HSE and radiological is highly valued and shall be assessed in the planning and execution of all work packages.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a technical expert in dismantling and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. We expect that you have relevant experience from decommissioning and dismantling projects, not necessarily with the nuclear business. Depending on your skills and experience you will have the opportunity to become a senior or leading technical expert. Your skills may also be used by our external branch in preparation of tenders or execution of work to external customers.
The position placement is open for discussion but regular work at sites is expected as well as business travelling. Uniper is positive to a flexible approach around remote working based on the conditions of the business and the individual employee.
What you will be working with
As our technical expert on dismantling and decommissioning you will work to professionally elaborate our methods on how to dismantle and decommission nuclear power plants, specifically at our sites OKG and BKAB. Your work includes to support the work package teams to solve technical challenges and find solutions on new ways of working, which inclides but not be limited to:
• Conduct technical investigations to evaluate new methods and way of working.
• Technical support during the engineering phase of the work packages, resulting in different technical documentation such as method statements and HSE planning.
• Technical support and problem solving during the execution of the work package at sites.
Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our business is covered by, among other things, rules related to protective security, export control and nuclear non-proliferation. We will therefore carry out security clearance of all positions and complement with register control for security classified positions, according to the Protection Security Act. Health and drug tests are performed if applicable.
Who we are seeking
We expect you to have a higher technical degree in engineering or otherwise gained experience that the employeer find equivalent. It is meritorious if you have relevant experience from similar work within conventional or nuclear dismantling and decommissioning. We are working in an international environment, you must therefore be comfortable in both leading meetings, produce presentation and participate in social situations in both English and Swedish.
As a person you have a high level of integrity, reliability, and personal drive as well as a high level of commercial awareness. You engage in problem solving, can see the big picture and strive towards finding a pragmatic approach.
You have a strong analytical mindset and willingness to drive performance and change. We also see that you value and promote cooperation and are a strong team player. We expect that you have insight and understanding of the need of a high standards and safety culture HSE in construction projects
