Are you a driven, creative chemist with an interest in technology, quality systems and new software?
Cambrex Karlskoga is now looking for a chemist to the Research and Development department. We offer an exciting opportunity for you who want to work with process improvement at an international chemical company that manufacture active substances for the pharmaceutical industry. The group works with ongoing manufacturing and constant process improvements for our established products in the company. You will work together with specialists in organic chemistry and process technology, with a high standard in science, innovation and quality.
The position is full-time and located in Karlskoga.
About the position:
An efficient manufacturing process is safe, robust, provides consistent high quality, and is energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The role as a chemist comprises multiple tasks linked to identifying and solving process-related challenges, often in the borderland between chemistry and technology.
Examples of areas of responsibility and duties:
- Develop and improve established processes and be the responsible chemist for one or more regular products
- Update manufacturing instructions, issue quality control documents and investigate deviations
- Plan, experimentally carry out and document improvement work such as the development of synthetic methods on a laboratory scale and participate in method transfer and scale-up activities
- Possibility to develop into a product group leader, which is a leading position in a cross-functional team without responsibility for personnel
- Participate in business development and cross-functional collaborations within the company
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a master's or a Ph. D. degree in organic chemistry from a university/college, alternatively a chemical engineering degree. Experience from the chemical process industry and from manufacturing according to cGMP is advantageous but not a requirement. We would like you to be interested and comfortable in working with various IT systems.
As a person, you have a solid interest in improving and streamlining processes in a creative and systematic way that ensures a high quality of work. You are good at finding new opportunities, taking initiative and working independently to achieve results within given deadlines. Since you will be working in a multi-functional team, it is important that you have both integrity and an approach without prestige when it comes to problem solving and collaboration. You contribute to a positive and creative atmosphere, and a strong and positive team.
