System Architect

As a System Architect here at Toca Boca you’ll be part of a small flexible team, Toca ID, responsible for creating our new account system. Toca Boca ID aims to be compliant with regulations at the same time as providing a world class account system for children and their adults, helping kids play safely together online. You’ll be the one who drives the change needed in order to make sure that it's a scalable and secure platform for the future.

You’ll join the Central Tech organisation, consisting of various teams, who are responsible for our infrastructure, automation, transaction systems, cloud apps and more. Basically everything that isn’t game development.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the one who owns the technical vision and sets the strategic direction for Toca Boca ID’s technical platform. But you won't be alone, you will collaborate with other tech leads and architects in setting this up.

You’ll work closely together with Robert, our Product Owner, in setting the roadmap, recruitment etc. You’ll support the team by ensuring sustainable development processes and workflows. You’ll be the one to support and coach the other developers on the team.

You’ll be the one to assess if we have the technical capabilities to create the features we want to create and the cost for those. You’ll be responsible for technical reporting and stakeholder metrics.

You'll continuously work with legal to make sure we are following best practice when it comes to regulations such as COPPA and GDPR.
Is this you?
You’re an engineer with previous experience creating large scale account systems (many million users). You have professional experience building and running NodeJS apps, preferably for non-web consumers (apps, other services, apis etc).

You have experience building and deploying services in the cloud, preferably AWS, including knowledge about containerization (Docker).

You can communicate clearly with techies and non-techies alike, having the ability to merge non-technical requirements into a technical solution.

You are well aware of GDPR and compliance regulation when it comes to account systems.

This position is full time and based in our Stockholm office with a hybrid working model (part office, part working from home). We apply a 6 months probationary period. As we’re an international company, with over 20 nationalities working here, and millions of users all over the world, you have to be fluent in English. Your application should therefore be in English.
