This is an opportunity to join a new team within R&D at Scania focusing on bus development. Your responsibility will be within systems and software integration of new bus unique BEV-batteries. We offer an interesting and challenging role working with the future of electrified heavy transport. With your help it is hopefully soon the present.
Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck and bus manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. In the development towards autonomous and electrified vehicles we face new challenges and this is where we need you.
YOU WILL
Here you will join a new team under build-up, responsible for integration of external components on bus chassis from a control systems point of view. Initially the main focus will be on external, bus optimized batteries for Battery Electric Vehicles, BEV, and to understand the technical demands for the bus applications. As a system architect you will help to lead the overall system architecture and strategic roadmap. Activities within the role are e.g to:
- participate in early product development projects and align the work between different areas.
- set goals and requirements for our external suppliers.
- work with both software and electrical integration regarding the batteries, testing and safety issues.
- share your knowledge as a technical advisor, help with best practice and have close cooperation with your team members and other teams within embedded and electrification sections.
- keep track of current trends in the industry and new technology.
- ensure that our innovations fit together creating the best possible total solution for our customers.
YOU ARE
You have a technical background and several years of experience from an architect or software engineer role. You should have an academic degree within computer science, electronics and/or mechanical engineering. Your technical knowledge is primarily within software, electronics and control systems, but also within test, safety and setting requirements. Experience from the automotive industry and/or battery systems is meritorious. You have good knowledge in English and preferably also Swedish, or you are willing to learn Swedish.
You have great analytical and strategic skills but also a pragmatic approach. You are self-driven, take responsibility and like new technical challenges. Your mindset is solution oriented and you drive for results. You are good at communicating and enjoy working with people, sharing your knowledge and helping your colleagues.
