Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey when it comes to electrification, aiming for 50% of global sales to be pure electrified by 2025 and with the first pure electrified cars being introduced during 2020. To ensure we can achieve and sustain a strong position in the market as an electrified OEM, it is critical to have a solid set up for how to handle aftermarket challenges for both Volvo Cars and affiliates.
About us
We are the Battery Life Cycle Services at Circular Operations within Volvo Cars Service Operation. Our new and growing DevOps organization consists of different teams organized as an agile release train (“ART”) working according to a Volvo specific agile model. Our purpose is to provide hassle free usage for consumers by creating maximum value throughout the Battery lifecycle.
We are responsible for three products where we develop solutions: Battery Repair, Battery Repurposing and Battery Recycling.
We are also operating three Regional Battery Centers in order to secure battery pack replacement supply for the aftermarket as well as fulfilling Volvo Cars strategy for electric vehicle batteries post 1st life. The Battery Center manages storage, analyze and repair/remanufacture as well as build BEV and PHEV battery packs.

What we are offering and what you’ll do
We now have an exciting opportunity within the ART Battery Lifecycle Services, where we are seeking a System Architect to lead our way forward. We are looking for a visionary, well organized and skilled person specialized in high voltage batteries, to develop our services globally.
As a System Architect, you will be operating mainly in the context of ART Battery Lifecycle Services, work close together with the Battery ARTs at R&D and the entire electrification Eco System, PS&L and other parts of Service Operations. You will provide technical trade-offs concerning services, systems, functions and components, interfaces and capability areas relevant for the ART, part of developing next-generation premium Volvo Cars consumer experience. You will be in the center of the development and make sure that entire system works as expected to fulfil our purpose.
You and your skills
To be successful in this role you need to have a holistic view and passion of Electrification Transformation. Detailed technical skills is meritorious.
You need to have the experience working with high voltage vehicles, preferably regarding battery hardware and the battery management system.
Working with vehicles in workshop or equivalent and experience from working in the Agile way are meritorious.
You have earned a B.Sc. degree, or as meritorious a M.Sc. degree, within Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent area of education.
On a personal level
For this position, you need to have a very good communication skills, curiousness and a personal eagerness to investigate, learn and drive for change to be able to accomplish results. You have the drive and passion for continuous improvements in your daily work. A sense for good logic and structured way of working will be important in this role, as well as a high ability to work in teams, individually and multicultural.
