About us: R&D – System Design & Integration
Our department consists of around 200 persons that are responsible for the Active Safety platform and enabling Driver Assistance and Collision Avoidance functions. We are also responsible for making Autonomous Drive become a reality for the customer in the near future. To make this happen we are working closely with different stakeholders, function responsible, software developers and sensor team responsible for state-of-the-art LiDARs, ultrasonic sensors as well as cameras and radars.
What you will do
As a System Architect, you will be part of developing next-generation premium Volvo Cars. You will be in the center of the development and make sure that all sensors are communicating as expected for the functional needs in our cars. You are a leader that will create clarity and guidance. You will define the tools and processes that is needed to optimize the development in our organisation. You will make sure that all requirements are balanced in the best way, together with concerned stakeholders. You will be part of defining roadmaps, capabilities and features in the backlog. Together with the sensor team, SW architects and SW developers you will be part of securing a robust technical system solution. This includes working with optimizing the core compute, defining signal interfaces, breaking down functional requirements, implementing functional safety and cyber security standards and handling legal demands. This is a broad area that gives you a great opportunity to build a solid and holistic vehicle view, and develop skills in concept development and requirement writing, planning and coordination.
What you bring in
You have a solid system design background and a large passion for processes, quality, clarity, system, software, and cars. You will bring in your skills and knowledge in requirement handling, including function safety standards and cyber security. Communicating and connecting to stakeholders comes naturally for you, and you can easily balance expectations and needs for our product. You are self-motivated and can easily work together with your colleagues, and dare to make decisions when needed. You will bring in your skills in how to work in an agile way in the best way and how to bring in clarity and a structured way of working to achieve our goals in the best way.
Do you fit the profile?
The qualifications that you bring in are:
• MSc/BSc within electronics, mechatronics, software or similar.
• More then 6 years of experience from system design work.
• Experience from working with functional safety and has knowledge in Cyber security
• Experience from different tools and protocols e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, CAN.
• Experience in Python, Simulink or C/C++.
• Driver`s license (B-level), valid in EU is meritorious.
• Good communication skills in English (speech and writing).
