What do we do
With our mission, 'Freedom to Move', Volvo Cars is evolving to become a direct-to-consumer services provider. Future mobility solutions demand major upgrades of monitoring capabilities, predictive maintenance and vehicle health algorithms. This is accomplished by a strictly data driven way of working, competent and curious co-workers and end-to-end responsibility. The ability to read out and process data from our cars are key factors for future connected services, autonomous vehicles and next generation electrical systems. 
We are part of an agile product development organization with SAFe as a way of working and in our ART Vehicle Data and Diagnostics the mission is to ensure that customers’ vehicles are diagnosed accurately enabling high availability, fast repair, and that accurate data is feedbacked to the developers to enable continuous improvement.

What do we offer?
The diagnostic system architect team is a small but growing team. The team consist of experienced members including technical experts, principal engineers and system architects. We are involved early in the development of the data and diagnostic platform and in the complete chain from data point in vehicle to storage in cloud and related analysis. The team is responsible for governance and evolvement of architecture over time and acts as a shared service for the development teams in the ART.
The System Architect operates mainly in the context of an ART and works with the Teams and provide technical trade-offs concerning systems, functions, modules, components, interfaces and capability areas for the ART.

What will you do
As system architect within Vehicle Data and Diagnostic department you will lead system concept development in early phases. You will support development teams to implement according to the concepts and architecture. You will collaborate with different stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment and be an important player of the team in close collaboration with Product Manager, your work will affect hundreds of Volvo Cars engineers daily!
You enjoy being a part of an efficient engineering team and are a great communicator with a hands-on approach to problems. You have the skills and the spirit to guide, train and motivate your junior colleagues towards success. 
You have the ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity. If you previously work with problem-framing and prioritizing, it’s beneficial as well as experience from managing a broad stakeholder base and projects would be.

Required qualifications
•    Master of Science or equivalent documented education/experience.

Professional experience:
•    Skilled engineer with several years of experience from working with diagnostic functions or monitor implementation
•    Good Knowledge about diagnostic fault handling
•    Structured and used to summarise and present the status of your work
•    Experience of sw development and meritorious if worked with sw architecture

Meritorious qualifications:  
•    Project leading
•    Have the ability to work in an international environment
•    Experience from working with legal requirements and interpretations
