The section Exhaust and Cooling system is located within department Powertrain installation. The Department have 18f people divided in Fuel, Cooling, Exhaust, Air intake and Engine suspension. Cooling system is divided in 2 groups, Inner cooling (engine mounted) and Outer cooling (C-shop mounted). We are responsible for all development of complete cooling system for Volvo cars all projects. Cooling system is a fundamental and a high focused area regards to thermal management and C02 reduction. Our work is in close cooperation with our suppliers and in the different car and engine projects. The groups are working close together and have the total responsibility for the complete cooling system.

As SA/KA( system and component responsible) WCAC (water cooled charge air cooler) you will work from AE (Advanced Engineering) to start of production and in close cooperation with involved competences within Powertrain, project management and suppliers. The main part of the job is to develop, deliver and support, regarding WCAC system setting, component design. System setting will also include low temperature circuit development. You will have contact with current and new supplier to support the programs and to develop the components and supplier base to next level.Local sourced in China is under progress and need to be developed to manage program requirement eg cost, weight and performance improvements. Next generation engine require water cooled charge air cooler, the system solution and component design is key issue to manage engine requirement.

Main responsibilities

* System responsible for WCAC system incl. the coolant circuit for WCAC
* Component responsible for WCAC
* Requirement engineering with elements such as performance, efficiency and thermal requirements
* System design and sizing of WCAC and coolant circuit
* Technical lead of WCAC development from Advanced Engineering through Industrialization Concept and Implementation phases
* Support development of CAE methods
* Develop verification methods and participate in test activities
* Cost engineering
* Supplier contacts and negotiations
* Networking with Universities and Industrial community

Required qualification

* M.Sc. grade within mechanics/ thermodynamic or a similar education/experience
* Experience within automotive, cooling system, system responsible is meritorious
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driving licence,B

* Good in cooperation and communication, both verbal and written
* Good social skills to cooperate with other members/teams/organisations
