System design engineer - Motor drive system

About the role


Are you a System Design Engineer who is passionate about a sustainable future? We are building a new system team in MDS (Motor Drive System) where you will have the responsibility for the electric motor drive systems at Volvo. Here you will be a communicator – effective in your approach in one-to-one meetings, small and large groups, and among diverse styles and position levels. But you’re also an attentive listener, adjusting to fit the audience and the message. By joining us, you will strengthen our team with your knowledge in either data analysis, MDS simulation, MDS verification, Electric drive (power electronics), or Electric motor control (software). Do you also have experience with propulsion systems in battery electric vehicles, cyber security or functional safety (ISO26262)? Great. Additional responsibilities are:


You will secure competitive system solutions for the application needs and contribute to the development of technology roadmaps and system architecture roadmaps. Since you are a true team player, you will be happy to work close to other teams, e.g., simulation, data analytics, software development, hardware development, and system verification. Therefore, you will also provide timely and helpful information to others across the organization.

Requirements:
M.Sc. in Electronics, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Hardware Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering or similar
Solid experience from Embedded System design & development
Documented experience from working in an agile development environment
Experience and knowledge about electric motor drive systems (MDS)
Documented experience from working with electric motor drive systems in automotive products and applications
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
