System Designer

We are currently recruiting a System Designer for our development team in Control and Communication Platform in Västerås, Sweden.
As a System Designer you will work with other team members to analyse input needs and requirements, and design the solution by adopting and integrating existing products or by developing a new solution. You are responsible for ensuring that these solutions fit into the overall system and meet customers' expectations in terms of function, quality and cost. The job requires that the person has a broad understanding and skills in systems engineering and ability to work transversally with engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
• System design and management over its life cycle
• Define technical concepts and system architectures
• Perform conceptual design by preparing system models, design studies, design rationales, design principles, etc. for technical de-risking and optimization
• Perform risk and hazard analysis in relation to safety and security
• Technically coordinate internal product teams and external suppliers
• Evaluate issues, defects and change requests
• Be informed of the evolution of technologies through technological watch
• Contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in computer science
• Good knowledge in product development of embedded systems or industrial control systems
• Knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial control systems is desirable
• Knowledge of network architectures, including network components, configurations, operational principles and communication protocols is desirable
• Knowledge and experience of railway and safety standards is an advantage
• Good communication, teamwork, flexibility, responsibility, leadership, result oriented skills
• Fluent in English
