System Designer Security and Connectivity - Infotainment

The section Infotainment Connectivity is a part of the Driver Interaction and Infotainment department and responsible for enabling the connected car. The section responsibilities include areas such as Telematics, Connectivity and Navigation. The telematics system includes telematic functions such as Volvo on Call functionality, mobile app, emergency Call (e-Call), telematic Electronic Control Modules (ECU) components and important interfaces towards IT backend systems.

As System Designer Architect with security focus you will be part of the infotainment projects, making sure that our customers gets the best possible system regards to functionality and quality. Your daily work will include creating new future functions, interaction with function owners, other system owners, and dose who are responsible for the SW- and HW, HMI, Mobil App SW developers, testers, supplier as well as Infotainment project leaders. We see that you not only are participating but in lead of the work to keep up with our existing positive trend to deliver secure connected solutions to our future customers.

Main responsibilities

* Design systems within the Telematic & Connectivity area, especially those related to the Volvo On Call Mobile app
* Create solutions that realises parts of a large customer oriented functions. Help owners of these large functions to understand possibilities and limitations
* Be involved in analysis of high-level requirements and writing of detailed requirements.
* Specify communications protocols and logic for subsystems
* Lead security related meetings involving people both from suppliers and other parts of the Volvo Cars organisation
* Support our quality organisations regarding issues with Telematics & Connectivity systems
* Participate in different security related meetings at Volvo Cars and with suppliers, aiding Volvo Cars taking good design decisions
* Take lead on examining existing and develop future requirements related to security within the Telematics & Connectivity area
* Review system solutions within the Telematics & Connectivity area with focus on security

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent in relevant Engineering area
* Experience of system design within large distributed systems
* Experience in Mobile apps and backend system integration
* Experience from security work from both embedded systems and IT systems
* Experience within the telecommunication area (2G,3G,LTE) etc
* Documented certificate within information security area, CISSP or similar
* A strong will to continuously develop your own competence and other members within the telematics team
* Knowledge of function and/or systems engineering and preferably within the feature area (Telematics) is an advantage
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
