System Engineer

As system engineer you are responsible for the fluid systems in Quintus products. You will develop the different systems and perform calculations on heat balance, pressure drop and the dimensioning of cooling systems and pumps. You will design the hydraulic system so that the application operates with the desired power, precision and speed of movement.
Your output is system schematics and specifications and toghether with mechanical engineers and sub-suppliers you will develop the physical module.
An important part of the role will be to contribute and drive the work with modularization and standardization. You will also drive cost and performance improvements.
You will work closely with electrical engineers and automation engineers within the department, but also colleagues within mechanical engineering, in our local workshop and commisioning engineers to ensure our system delivery.
You report to Manager System Modules. The position is located in Västerås.


Main tasks
Design and dimension hydraulic, cooling, gas and water systems
Configuration management
Create system requirement specifications
Collaborate with sub-suppliers
Perform gas and heat transfer calculations and calculation report for all systems
Write detailed functional specifications for all systems
Develop and maintain analysis tools
Drive cost and performance improvements
Drive modularization and standardization

       
Your profile
You have a Masters degree preferably within mechanics, hydraulics or engineering physics. You have at least 5 years of relevant experience from an industrial setting. You have solid experience working with fluid mechanics in either hydraulics or pneumatics. Knowledge of coolings systems and gas storage and handling is an advantage.
All design is documented in Teamcenter, we are using Autocad for creating our schematics.
You are a driven team player with a genuine technical interest and good communication skills. You have a systematic and structured way of working. You are analytical and a skilled problem solver who get things done.
