We are looking for a Propulsion System Engineer for our location in Vasteras, Sweden.
Purpose of the role
As a System Engineer your main responsibilities are to describe the complete propulsion system electrically in collaboration with fellow engineers, to perform performance calculations and to prepare and execute system tests. Acting System engineer means collaborating with other propulsion engineering departments in order to ensure that the entire systems operates as intended. This means you will have an overview of the entire propulsion system from components up to vehicle level. Even though we strive for standardization each project is unique and therefore you will be working with new solutions blended with proven technology. As we are a leading propulsion supplier, we always look to include new solutions and improve our design, while maintaining standardized solutions.
Your main context is in your project team but you are also expected to support parallel projects with reviews and participate in the department's development. Your project team usually consists of a project manager, technical project leads and electrical, mechanical and functional engineers. This position includes frequent international contacts as most of our projects are delivered to customers worldwide, ranging from London to Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the correct design, performance and functionality of the propulsion system.
Manage the system requirements and performance calculations.
Create, update and release system design documents.
Prepare design reviews.
Prepare and participate in the system test (power lab) and investigation test. Analyze results and write corresponding reports.
Prepare and perform vehicle type test. Analyze the results and write reports.
Create technical concepts and support product management with technical expertise.
Support implementers, integrators, testers and validators (e.g. explain requirements, assess non-conformities) including conception of safety measures for presentation to assessors and involved teams.
Perform electrical integration of sub-systems.
Focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Preferably Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or similar).
Relevant experience working with requirements, specifications and documentation of complex technical systems including software and hardware.
Reliability and Safety system related engineering experience (including knowledge of RAMS and system design).
Experience working with Propulsion System, in the power field or with power electronics (electrical design) from a similar industry will be preferred.
Experience from modelling and tools like Matlab and Simulink is beneficiary.
Good understanding of product life cycle management and configuration management.
Excellent social, communication and leadership skills.
Results driven, flexible and highly motivated by challenges.
English at a fluent level is mandatory for this role, Swedish is beneficiary.
