System Engineer (220344)
The System Engineer is the key architect for railway signaling systems and assures that customer needs and safety targets are met. We currently roll out our ERTMS signaling system in Sweden and we would like to reinforce our team. This is a role there you really can make difference – come and join us!
Purpose of the job
As System Engineer you will collect and structure internal and external system stakeholders needs into long term design solutions and make sure that the selected design solution translates into workable system requirements in order to achieve a solution that creates high customer value and satisfaction. You will work to ensure consistency of the system requirements, robust solutions, and re-usable functionality of the system throughout the system life cycle. High safety awareness is essential.
All employees have an important role to play. You as System Engineer provides technical expertise in support of other departments and less experienced engineering personnel.
Key Responsibilities
System ownership
Design, manage and harmonise a system solution within a specific market for the entire systems life cycle. Work together with our Development Centre, Project engineering, sales, bids and other functions in regards of system solution evolution. As the system owner you also work closely with internal and external suppliers to follow up and manage the implementation of changes, updates and new functionality in the system and its sub components.
Requirements management
You are the key player that design system requirements for our systems solutions that are aligned with our customer needs. Translate and document the needs into measurable goals and requirement. You will take ownership for the requirements specifications and communicate these towards our internal and external stakeholders.
System & Product Structures
Defines the design solutions and is accountable for documentation and delivery structures for the specific system.
Analysis & Support
Participate in analysis of errors related to safety, functionality and availability and support towards customers, railway authorities and assessors.
At times you will also support in bids engineering. It is you as systems engineer that sign off on purposed technical solution for applicable system solution.
Qualifications & Functional Knowledge
Master or Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
Work experience of typically 5-8 years post graduate
Broad knowledge of products, signaling systems and standards within the Railway industry.
You also need broad knowledge of functionality and architecture of railway systems.
Experience from requirement management, railway signaling solutions and processes. You need to have expertise in at least one relative area.
