System Engineer - Dynamic Positioning Systems

Technogarden Engineering Resources is a consulting firm that offers highly competent engineering consultants and works with recruitment of engineering specialists and managers.We are a fully owned subsidiary of Norconsult AS, Norway's largest consulting engineering company.Technogarden has 260 employees and is expanding rapidly. One of our largest clients in Norway, Kongsberg Maritime, is now looking to engage more engineering consultants to work with Dynamic Positioning (DP).Kongsberg Maritime delivers systems for positioning, surveying, navigation and automation to merchant vessels and offshore installations.They are a market leader in dynamic positioning systems, automation and surveillance systems, process automation, satellite navigation and hydroacoustics.Important markets include countries with large offshore and shipyard industries.Dynamic Positioning is a system which automatically maintains a ships position and heading by using her own propellers and thrusters.This allows operations at sea where mooring or anchoring is not feasible.Dynamic positioning may either be absolute in that the position is locked to a fixed point over the seabed, or relative to a moving object like another ship or an underwater vehicle.Job description Working as one of Technogarden's engineering consultants you will have the opportunity to experience different assignments in different environments. In this assignment at our client Kongsberg Maritime you will have the following tasks: .Contribute to efficient completion of deliveries from start to finish .Detailed HW and SW Engineering .HW and SW commissioning on-board .Engage in extensive cooperation, inside and outside the company .Focus on customers' needs .Extensive world-wide travel at times Qualifications You have an engineering degree (B.Sc./M.Sc) in Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Cybernetics or Marine and at least 2 years working experience.Your English is excellent as well as your interpersonal skills.You are practical, have a hands-on approach to complex tasks and an interest in working in a hectic and demanding international environment.You must also meet the health requirements that apply for offshore work.What can we offer in Norway?Technogarden offers an international, dynamic and creative environment, career opportunities in different fields and competence development within several fields and disciplines.For consultants from outside of Norway, Technogarden supports housing and travel arrangements on a weekly or monthly basis.
