System Engineer - Sensor and Communication

Your role

The System Design Sensor and Communication group within Product Unit Mission System is responsible for system design of sensors and of our airborne surveillance communication system as well as sourced solutions included. This position is primarily system engineering for the communication links where you will be technical driver for part of our system from early studies to customer deliveries. The system engineering role covers handling of functional, performance and robustness requirements and follow up of performance of implemented solutions. Cooperation with technical product management as well as engineering, external suppliers and other organizations within Saab is part of the daily work.



There are great opportunities to travel nationally and/or internationally for teamwork with colleagues, customer interactions or conferences. The role has the potential to be broaden into our sensor areas as well.

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with a M.Sc. or other equivalent experience in electrical engineering, computer science or engineering physics. Previous experience from working with communication solutions is highly desirable. Furthermore, we value experience from systems engineering as well as familiarity with, or an interest in, signal processing, antennas and/or microwave antenna systems.

You are a team player and experienced in driving and cooperating with global teams to solve a wide array of problems on various levels of abstraction from theoretical concept to practical system implementation. You enjoy new challenges and thrive in an environment where you need to learn new complex solutions and technologies as well as sharing your knowledge to team mates.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

The team you will join consists of six system safety engineers, three flight safety engineers and one environmental coordinator based in Gothenburg. Radar Solutions is part of the Business Area Surveillance.
