What do we do?


We work both with current and future technical challenges and play a major part in developing the electrical drivetrains for our vehicles. We focus on system simulations, model development, data treatment and advanced engineering and are also responsible for functional safety, SFMEA and system certification. With us you will have a diverse, friendly, and open-minded team on your side, always providing support to each other to succeed in team deliveries.


What will you do?


You will be our new System Design Engineer to join the Motor Drive System team. In this role you will support the team with deliveries that consider the entire lifecycle of development with participation and/or leading concepts in early phases of the development cycle. Together with your teammates you will steer explorations of alternatives to establish a system level solution and secure competitive system solutions for the application needs. You will also contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and system architecture roadmaps. We are closely connected to other teams at Volvo, such as simulation, data analytics, software and hardware development and system verification.


Who are you?


This position requires an open-minded team player, keen to learn and develop yourself in a technical and personal manner. You are great at adapting to new situations, flexible and good at prioritizing.


As our team is somewhat a “spider in the web” you need to be comfortable with hosting meetings and talking in front of people.


Requirements:
Master's degree within Electrical Engineering - electrical drive system/ power electronics/ electrical machine design.
Experience within automotive applications.
Knowledge of Electric Motor Drive systems.
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following;


Automotive, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, power electronics, requirement management, software configuration and development, Volvo systems, Agile principles, and methods, HIL rigs and testing, functional safety.
