The position will be located in Västerås, Sweden and the holder of the role will report to the Head of System Design within the Propulsion & controls division.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES & CHALLENGES
Within the project, the System Functional Lead has the overall responsibility (together with his/her team), to deliver the Systems sub-scope as per the customer requirement or to lead development projects within Propulsion and Controls ? Engineering - System Design area.
-Ensure that all technical requirements and demands in the customer/contract are covered by the defined engineering scope within the function- activities will include various tasks like: requirements management, performance calculations, definition of test specification, testing and documentation.
-Ensure designed solutions are aligned with all external interfaces (electrical, mechanical, functional or others).
Budget, planning and monitoring:
-Responsibility to keep an updated project plan and inform relevant stakeholders on any changes;
-Responsibility to control own budget and inform relevant stakeholders on any changes, risks or opportunities;
-Ensure that all tasks and deliverables within own scope are executed, monitored and delivered according to plan using tools as instructed;
--Responsible for the adherence to the applicable engineering processes;
-Ensure that verification activities are identified, planned, performed and documented according to the project Detailed Project Schedule and V&V-plan;
-Provide reporting and technical documentation as required to Project Manager, System Architect and Engineering line management.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
-At least 3 years of previous professional experience in the field of System engineering and/or design, technical project management and/or technical research & development;
-Experience within a similar position or within a related Project Manager role would by highly valued;
-Experience and knowledge of Propulsion and Control systems for railway vehicles is not mandatory but will be a valuable asset for the role;
-Good understanding of concepts associated with Propulsion and Control systems
-Fluency in English is a must; Swedish will be highly desirable but not mandatory; other languages will be a plus;
-University degree (BSc and/or MSc), in an engineering field.
