Operations at IKEA IT provides IKEA with a reliable, yet flexible operation of the information system.With its 350 co-workers worldwide Operations secures that all IKEA applications run and are supported to meet the user needs.
ASSIGNMENT
In IKEA IT Operations Global Production, we are now looking for 1 VMS System Manager to our VMS team in Sweden.Our main responsibility area is 2nd level support and maintenance of VMS/Alpha hardware and software.
Many of IKEAs business critical applications are today running in an OpenVMS environment, example supply chain (MHS, COS, INOS, CNS, EDI).We have a mixed environment with local Alpha servers in each store and a number of (appx 60) central Alpha servers in Älmhult and Singapore.
Examples of daily tasks are solving incidents & problems, proactive maintenance work, backup/recovery, performing upgrades.
The tasks sometimes demands working inconvenient working hours also includes scheduled duty service (beredskap) during evenings, nights and weekends (approx 1 week duty/month).

OpenVMS queue/printer handling is required.
As a System Manager you also need to:
Understand the ITIL based processes such as Change Management, Configuration Management, Incident Management etc.
Be able to work independently but also in team and together with colleges at other IT offices.
Have competence to act in order to achieve the expected quality in line with IKEA cost consciousness.
Be service minded with creative problem solving skills and ability to put the user in focus.
Have good communication skills both verbally and in writing
Be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities with a holistic mind and a sense for details.
Be able to adapt to new challenges and demands, both technical changes and new ways of working.Take own initiatives to make things happen.
Act and behave, in line with decided goals and according to planned procedures, to achieve results and reach the goals.
Act and think globally in line with the needs within IKEA
